Bathroom mirrors are the de rigueur of any, well, bathroom. You must not allow your bathroom to remain without a mirror, no matter how small or big, not only for aesthetic, but for function as well. However, choosing the bathroom mirror is not as easy as it sounds. Aside from the number of choices, there are an awful lot of considerations you need to think about.
The first, and most important, is your preferences. There are two ways to buy bathroom mirrors: through a retailer and through a craftsman. If you cannot be bothered with customized mirrors, you can certainly take advantage of the several designs offered by ready-made mirrors. However, if you want more control with your purchase, hiring someone to make the mirror for you—from the frame to the reflective element—will be a most fitting alternative. However, you need to think about the cost. Hiring someone to make a customized mirror will set you back quite considerably more than buying a ready-made one.
And speaking of the cost, you need to set a budget. Bathroom mirrors are available in wide-ranging designs. Like mentioned, your preference will play a huge role in budgeting. What you can do, though, is to do an initial canvassing of the mirrors you want. Checking for a wide-variety of mirrors online is one good place to start. If you are going for a customized mirror, checking the social networks or online classified ad websites for craftsmen are all great choices.
You should always remember to consider the design of the mirror you want. Not only will this be affected by your budget (a more elaborate mirror naturally dictates a higher price), but by your bathroom as well. If you have a contemporary bathroom, installing a mirror with a Victorian-style frame with Gothic etchings is probably not the best decision. Always remember to match your choice of design with the style of your bathroom.
Lastly, get the right measurements of your bathroom so you can decide on the right size of your bathroom mirrors. This will be especially useful and important for pre-made mirror purchases. Since you cannot customize these mirrors, knowing how big a mirror will fit in your bathroom prior to shopping for one will be helpful. When it comes to customized mirrors, however, measurements still count. You need to specify your desired size to the craftsman before he or she can initiate the work.
